In 1931, skeletons ranging from 8 ½ to 10 feet long were found in the Humboldt lake bed in California. A government supervisor of the Lincoln National Park, Fred Arthur, and others backed him up, noting the prints were unquestionably human, complete with a clear instep.
Even during World War II, the earth gave up its secrets. Author and zoologist Ivan T. Sanderson, a name familiar to anyone who studies strange phenomena, told a stunning story. His army engineering crew was bulldozing an airfield on the Aleutian island of Shemya. They sliced through a hill and stumbled upon a graveyard. But the skulls were… impossible. They measured 22 to 24 inches from base to crown. A normal human skull is about eight inches. Sanderson calculated that if these beings were properly proportioned, they would have stood at least 12 feet tall.
And perhaps the most outlandish claim of all came in 1947. Amateur archeologists reported finding nine-foot-tall skeletons in caves in Death Valley. That’s shocking enough. But they also claimed to have found the bones of extinct tigers and dinosaurs alongside the human remains.
