The Iraq conspiracy – Documentary

The Iraq War Lie: It Wasn’t About WMDs. It Was About Something Far More Frightening.

Forget everything you were told. Everything.

Cast your mind back to 2003. The world held its breath. Stern-faced leaders pointed at grainy satellite photos on giant screens. They spoke of imminent threats, of mobile chemical weapons labs, of a madman holding a smoking gun that was about to become a mushroom cloud. We were told the invasion of Iraq was not a choice. It was a necessity. A pre-emptive strike to save the world from Weapons of Mass Destruction.

It was a lie.

A calculated, world-altering lie sold to a terrified public. There were no WMDs. The intelligence was cherry-picked, manipulated, and in some cases, outright fabricated. The inspectors on the ground found nothing. But the war machine had already been switched on. It couldn’t be stopped.

So, if it wasn’t about the WMDs… what was it really about? Why did the most powerful nation on Earth obliterate a sovereign country, topple its government, and plunge an entire region into a generation of chaos? The easy answer is always “oil.” And that’s certainly part of it. A big part. But it’s not the whole story. The real story is darker, deeper, and connected to the very foundation of American global power. It’s a story about the money in your pocket. It’s about the dollar itself.

Strap in. We’re going down the rabbit hole, and what you find might change how you see the world forever.

Deep Dive: The Official Story Crumbles to Dust

The case for war was built on a house of cards. The public face of that case was Secretary of State Colin Powell. On February 5, 2003, he stood before the United Nations Security Council and laid out the “evidence.” He held up a vial, meant to represent anthrax. He showed diagrams of those infamous mobile bio-labs. He spoke with conviction. It was a masterful performance. And it was a fiction.

Years later, Powell would call that speech a “blot” on his record. The primary source for much of his information, an Iraqi defector codenamed “Curveball,” was later revealed by German intelligence to be an unstable fabricator. The aluminum tubes Cheney and Bush claimed were for nuclear centrifuges? They were for conventional rockets, a fact known by US energy department specialists who were silenced. The entire premise was hollow. A ghost story told to justify a pre-planned invasion.

The troops went in. Baghdad fell. And the great WMD hunt began. It was the most expensive scavenger hunt in history. Teams scoured every inch of the country. They found nothing. No stockpiles. No active programs. Just dusty remnants of an old program that had been dismantled after the first Gulf War in the 90s. The lie was exposed. The justification for a war that would cost trillions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives was gone. Poof. So, we have to look for the real reasons.

Reason #1: It’s The Oil, Stupid

Let’s start with the obvious. Iraq sits on the fifth-largest proven crude oil reserves in the world. Before the 2003 invasion, its oil industry was fully nationalized and closed off to Western companies. It was a prize of unimaginable value, controlled by a regime hostile to the United States.

What happened after the invasion? A shocker. Iraq’s oil fields were privatized. Massive, multi-billion-dollar, no-bid contracts were handed out to Western oil giants. Companies like Halliburton (where Vice President Dick Cheney was formerly CEO), ExxonMobil, BP, and Chevron suddenly had access to black gold they could only dream of before. It was one of the greatest transfers of wealth in modern history, conducted under the cover of “liberation.”

Controlling Iraq’s oil wasn’t just about corporate profits. It was about geopolitical power. By controlling the flow of Iraqi oil, the United States could exert immense pressure on the global energy market, influencing prices and keeping competitor nations like China in check. This is the simple, greedy explanation. And it’s true. But it’s still not the deepest reason.

Deep Dive: The Petrodollar and the REAL Threat Saddam Posed

This is where the story gets really interesting. This is the part they don’t teach you in school. To understand the real, existential threat Saddam Hussein posed to the American empire, you need to understand the magic trick that props up the entire system: the Petrodollar.

A Crash Course in the Petrodollar System

Back in 1971, President Nixon did something monumental. He severed the U.S. dollar’s final link to gold. The dollar was no longer backed by anything tangible. It became a “fiat” currency, backed only by faith and… something else. That “something else” was a deal struck with Saudi Arabia in 1974.

The deal was simple, yet brilliant:

  • Saudi Arabia, and by extension all of OPEC (the cartel of major oil-exporting nations), would agree to sell their oil ONLY in U.S. dollars.
  • In exchange, the U.S. would provide the Saudi Kingdom with military protection and weapons.

Suddenly, the U.S. dollar had a new backing. Not gold, but oil. Black gold. Think about what this means. Any country that wants to buy oil on the international market needs U.S. dollars first. This creates a constant, massive, artificial global demand for American currency. It forces nations across the globe to stockpile dollars as reserves. This demand is what allows the United States to run up staggering debts and print money with seemingly no consequences. It is the absolute bedrock of American economic and military supremacy. It is the empire’s superpower.

Saddam’s Attack on the Dollar

Saddam Hussein knew this. And in November 2000, he did the unthinkable. He announced that Iraq would no longer accept U.S. dollars for its oil. He was switching to the Euro. At the time, the Euro was new and challenging the dollar’s dominance. This was not a symbolic gesture. This was a direct declaration of economic war. It was a dagger aimed at the heart of the Petrodollar system.

If Saddam’s move had been successful, and other oil-producing nations like Iran, Venezuela, or Russia had followed suit, it could have triggered a global fire sale of U.S. dollars. The artificial demand would plummet. The value of the dollar would collapse. The U.S. economy would face hyperinflation and an economic catastrophe unlike anything seen before. The empire would crumble from within.

Is it a coincidence that just over two years after Saddam ditched the dollar, the invasion began? Is it a coincidence that one of the very first things the U.S. provisional authority did after taking Baghdad was switch Iraqi oil sales back from the Euro to the U.S. dollar?

You be the judge.

The Architects of the New Century

So who was pushing for this war long before the WMD narrative was even cooked up? You need to know about a group called The Project for a New American Century, or PNAC. This was a neoconservative think tank whose members included a who’s-who of the future Bush administration: Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, and others.

In a document published in September 2000—a full year before 9/11—titled “Rebuilding America’s Defenses,” they laid out a blueprint for maintaining absolute American global dominance. They openly called for regime change in Iraq. But they noted a problem. They worried that the American public would never support their radical plans for military expansion without “some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor.”

One year later, they got their wish. The tragedy of 9/11 became the “new Pearl Harbor” they needed. It provided the emotional fuel and the political cover to execute a plan that had been sitting on a shelf for years. The target was always Iraq. The WMD story was just the marketing campaign.

A Pattern of Economic Warfare?

If you think Iraq was a one-off, you haven’t been paying attention. Look at the pattern. In the years following the Iraq invasion, other leaders challenged the Petrodollar system.

Iran: For years, Iran has been making moves to create an Iranian Oil Bourse, a stock exchange for oil that would trade in Euros and other currencies, explicitly to bypass the dollar. The drumbeat for war with Iran has been beating ever since.

Libya: In 2011, Muammar Gaddafi was in the process of organizing a block of African nations to create a new currency, the gold-backed Dinar. This currency would have been used to sell African oil and other resources, completely sidelining the dollar and the Euro. Within months, NATO, led by the U.S., began a bombing campaign under the guise of “humanitarian intervention.” Gaddafi was overthrown and brutally killed, and his gold-backed currency plan died with him.

One is an anomaly. Two is a coincidence. Three? Three is a pattern. It seems that any nation that dares to challenge the financial supremacy of the U.S. dollar finds itself on the receiving end of “liberation.”

The Video Evidence They Don’t Want You To See

Don’t just take my word for it. The connections between the war, the lies, and the threat to the dollar have been laid out by investigative journalists for years. The mainstream media, which so eagerly beat the drums for war, has largely ignored this angle. Why? Because it’s too terrifying. It suggests that the system we live in is maintained not by freedom and democracy, but by economic coercion backed by overwhelming military force.

This documentary below does an excellent job of connecting the dots. It explores the oil, the money, and the men who sold the world a war for reasons far different than what they claimed. Watch it and ask yourself: how much do we really know about why our countries go to war?

The Shocking Truth and the World We Live In

The Iraq War was not a mistake based on faulty intelligence. It was a success based on a hidden agenda.

The goal wasn’t to find WMDs. The goals were to seize control of a vital energy source, to make an example of a leader who dared to challenge the Petrodollar system, and to establish a strategic military foothold in the heart of the Middle East. From the perspective of the war’s architects, it was mission accomplished.

For the rest of us, it was a catastrophe. It shattered a country, created a vacuum of power that led directly to the rise of ISIS, destabilized an entire region, and cost the American taxpayer trillions of dollars that could have rebuilt our own nation’s infrastructure many times over. It was a war built on lies that we are all still paying for, in blood and treasure.

The real conspiracy isn’t some shadowy group meeting in secret. It’s the one happening in plain sight. It’s the uncomfortable truth that wars are often fought not for freedom or safety, but for profit and power, for the preservation of a financial system that benefits a select few at the expense of the many. The next time the drums of war begin to beat, and our leaders point to a new bogeyman, remember Iraq. Remember the lies. And ask yourself the most important question of all: who really stands to benefit?
